Emily Philp


Emily is the main rider at the yard having regular Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country lessons from her coaches as well as doing the general hacking and schooling. Emily also teaches lesson in between riding and competing.

Carol Philp

Emily’s mum, Carol, is second in command on the yard and keeps everything running smoothly on the yard and at competitions. Always positive, her ‘can do’ attitude keeps us all motivated – as do her scrumptious cakes, YUM!

Maz Gledhill

Owner and friend, Maz lives on site and is truly part of the family. Her Racing and Breeding background give Emily access to years of knowledge, experience and guidance. Maz is a quiet and steady influence who continues to help with the day to day running and management of the yard.

Charlotte Golby

Coming from a racing background, Charlotte exercises the horses at home and accompanies Emily to the gallops. She is also Emily’s Travelling Competition Groom and her light and bright personality is indespensible. Sunny even on a rainy day!

Anna Skelding

Anna, A.S. Equine Services, is our Head Girl and coming from a predominantly Dressage background, Anna mainly concentrates on the schooling work. Choosing to approach things from a biomechanical/therapeutic perspective, she aims to keep the horses straight, supple and responsive.

Becky Jones


Becky joined Emily Philp Eventing in March of this year (2015) as a Working Pupil and is proving to be an invaluable member of the team. Riding out with Emily on a daily basis as well as doing all yard duties and attending competitions are just some of the tasks which Becky undertakes. She has also recently taken the ride on Boolagh Chocolate Chip owned by Emily and Carol.

Natalie Oakes


Natalie Oakes Equestrian PR & Marketing is responsible for all of the Marketing and PR support. Nat juggles riding with doing the Website, Facebook, sponsor blogs and Twitter feeds along with help from Anna.

The Team at Bradford’s are truly amazing for keeping both horses and riders straight and strong. Tim regularly makes visits to the yard bringing an analytical yet level headed perspective to any issues that may arise. Farrier: Feet First Farriers – Jonathon Nunn DWCF

Jon and his Team provide precision shoeing to the horses at Galatea Farm. Using Gait Analysis Tools before and after shoeing allows them to ensure all of the horses are totally comfortable, paying attention to the smallest detail. Jon and his Team regularly take part in Farriery Competitions and are always updating their skills on courses.

Andrew Wheals AKA The Saddleman, Owner of Spalding International Saddlery takes care of all of the Saddle Fitting on the yard and is also one of Emily’s top sponsors. Instruction: Bonnie Williams

Bonnie has trained Emily since her Pony Club days and specialises in Dressage instruction. Having worked with Emily for so long, they both know each other very well and her concise and clear way of teaching instils the confidence that is needed when competing at top level.  Bonnie often attends competitions with Emily to aid with her warm up routines.

Jon Pitts Human Performance Coach – RideSmart

Jon Pitts is a world renowned Human Performance Coach who has worked with some of the top riders in the world including Mary King and William Fox-Pitt. Jon has worked with Emily since 2013 when she had a rotational fall at Aston Le Walls. Jon regularly visits the yard and helps Emily with all aspects from competition riding to best processes for the yard to run efficiently. Jon designed the RideSmart program, formally Fit to Ride, and Emily uses this program on a daily basis to improve her riding and performance.
